Q. WHAT DO CHIROPRACTORS DO?
A. Chiropractic treatment focuses on the relationship between the body's main structures (the skeleton, the muscles and the nerves) and the patient's health. Chiropractors improve and preserve health by making adjustments to these structures, particularly to the spinal column. They do not prescribe drugs or perform surgical procedures, although they do refer patients for other professional health services.
Chiropractors are highly educated and extensively trained to assess, diagnose, treat and prevent disorders of the spine, joints, muscle and nervous systems. These disorders may include back pain, neck pain, headaches, and many other conditions.
Q. WHY SHOULD I SEE A CHIROPRACTOR?
A. Many patients seek chiropractic treatment for wellness care. Seniors and other patients often find that treatment helps them to maintain mobility and good range of motion. There are many reasons to seek chiropractic care: Work, accidents, sports injuries, household chores, even the stress of daily living can cause painful joint and spinal problems. Even if you do not have painful symptoms, chiropractic care can help you maintain healthy spine and joint function.
